CONGRATULATIONS!

Each year, the Grapevine-Colleyville Education Foundation partners with GCISD to recognize the District Paraprofessional of the Year, Elementary Teacher of the Year and Secondary Teacher of Year.

In addition to the monetary awards provided by grants, set up through the foundation, Avondale Dealerships provides each teacher with a generous gift card and a vehicle to drive for the summer.

Thank you to Avondale Dealerships and our grant patrons for supporting excellence in teaching!

2024 GCISD District Employees of the Year

Fran Gott, Early Childhood Development Center (left)

Recipient of the Carolyn Frank GCISD Paraprofessional of the Year 2024

Fran was described as the epitome of a caregiver and teacher who goes out of her way to make her co-workers feel loved and appreciated. She also makes sure every staff achievement, birthday or milestone is not only celebrated, but marked with a beautifully decorated table and celebration. Parents of the children in her class love her because she takes such good care of their babies and greets everyone with a smile.

Laura Jean Couch, Grapevine Elementary (middle)

Recipient of the Helen Harbison Lucas Endowment Grant for the GCISD Elementary Teacher of the Year 2024

Pre-K teacher at Grapevine Elementary School and GCISD’s Elementary Teacher of the Year, carefully looks at each individual child’s needs and tries to figure out what she can do to best support their development. Her level of expertise with the pre-K standards, district Frog Street curriculum and campus expectations combine to make her a valuable resource not only for GES but across the district. Regularly, she formally and informally assesses her students to guide her planning of differentiating instruction within her classroom.

Aaron Geer, Collegiate Academy (right)

Recipient of the John T. & Janis A. Eubanks Endowment Grant for the GCISD Secondary Teacher of the Year 2024

English teacher at Collegiate Academy and GCISD’s Secondary Teacher of the Year, is the Student Leadership sponsor, the Friday Response to Intervention coordinator, and the liaison to Tarrant Community College for course materials. He is also a stellar teacher. He is a contributing factor to why Collegiate Academy, which recruits students who are at risk, economically disadvantaged, first generation college goers, and special education, led the district in the English II STAAR EOC scores.

As District Teachers of the Year, Couch and Geer are now eligible for region and state teacher of the year awards.
